Frequently asked questions

Dinner at 9:30-10:30 PM, bars fill from 11 PM, clubs peak 2-4 AM. If you go to a club before 1 AM it will be empty. If you leave a restaurant at 8 PM you will find most places not yet serving dinner.

Flamenco is Andalusian, not Catalan, so most Barcelona shows are commercial. The best are Tablao Cordobes on Las Ramblas, Palacio del Flamenco in Eixample, and Tarantos in Placa Reial. Tarantos is short and cheapest, Palacio is full dinner + show.

El Born for cocktail bars, Raval for grungy late-night, Eixample for rooftops, Port Olimpic and Barceloneta for beach clubs, Gracia for local vermut bars. Las Ramblas at night is mostly tourist traps, avoid.
